Floating or ‘Floatation Therapy’ as it is commonly referred to, is the best way known to reduce stress without medications. The benefits of floating are:
Improved physical and mental well-being
Float Therapy is deliberate reduction of the senses. When you float in a sensory deprivation pod, you lose all your senses. Earplugs protect your ears from water and by doing so, reduces your ability to hear. The density of the magnesium sulphate solution makes you float, a unique feeling. The complete darkness in the room takes away your ability to see. When your senses are taken away, the body and mind can fully rest and begin healing.
Our sauna and float members report the number one reason they choose to recover with us is to reduce stress, The second reason is pain relief. They often describe floating as a ‘re-set’ button for their brains, leaving them feeling ‘renewed’ and ‘relaxed’ in the extreme. No matter what is causing your stress or depression, float therapy helps you get that spark back that you’ve been missing. While floating, all outside stimulation is eliminated. It’s just you, floating and feeling relaxed. During and after floating, people experience feelings of positivity, creativity, and relaxation.
Talk to our Life Coach about methods of stress reduction to incorporate into your float practice to improve your overall well-being and happiness. Floating every week, or as often as you can, will decrease stress levels and give you an hour of complete and utter silence and relaxation. You won’t be bothered by anyone or any sounds which makes most people feel safe and extremely relaxed.
Studies show that floating lowers blood pressure and levels of cortisol, the stress hormone. One thing we love about floating above all other stress reducers is that the calming effects of floating lasts for hours and sometimes days after floating.
“Anxiety outpaces the beat of life and it is a rhythm that can be slowed down by floating.”
